The Morning It Started: Three Requests, One Budget

Last October, our production manager walked into my office with two problems and a wish. We needed to mark serial numbers on stainless steel enclosures. We needed to cut acrylic templates for a new product line. And marketing wanted to print cookie logos for a client event. Same quarter, one equipment budget.

I run procurement for a 40-person custom manufacturing company.
